National Compadres Newsletter #19 (December 2021)

Greeting Comadres! We hope these words find you and your familias in good health and joyful spirits! As we come to the end of this year, we want to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all your support to the National Comadres Network; we could not do it without every one of you!
This year brought many challenges, and this time of the year has many different meanings for people.  For some, it’s a time of gathering with familia, preparing delicious meals, laughter, music, gift-giving, and happiness.  For others, it can be a time of sadness, loneliness, nostalgia, remembering our loved ones who have passed on, and reflections about the good ole days, and for others, it can be a little of both.

Whichever might be the case for you, we’d like to acknowledge all you have done and encourage you to make time to do something good, just for you! Remember, you have persevered through some of the most unimaginable experiences in 2021 and have miraculously been able to find the strength from deep within your spirit to rise above the circumstances and keep ongoing. That is no insignificant accomplishment, and we want to acknowledge you!
As the National Comadres Network, we want to celebrate you, for all you do for so many within your families, jobs, and communities.  Your example of living the values and traditions of our ancestors of compassion, faith, understanding, and most of all your love, motivates and gives hope to those around you!
You all are our GIFT, and we celebrate you as we enter 2022!  We are honored as the National Comadres Network to continue our commitment to you and offer our love and support as we create more healing spaces and opportunities to learn, grow and heal together.
Wishing you all a joyful season and a blessed New Year.
Warm hugs y Bendiciones! Maestras Debra Camarillo and Susanna Armijo
