Alejandro Vasquez, MSW
Alejandro Vasquez currently works with Hospice of Santa Barbara. He is a registered Associate MFT and provided services as a Bilingual/Bicultural Bereavement Counselor. He has long provided services to youth throughout Santa Barbara County in non-profit agencies, Juvenile Probation and the educational school system.
For the past 20 years, Alejandro worked with Latino students in Jr. high schools, high schools, alternative schools, Los Prietos Boy’s Camp/Detention Facility, and the Santa Barbara County Jail. In his work in the community he has used the culture-based curricula of El Joven Noble, Cara y Corazon, Hombres que Cuentan, Hombres Buscando su Balance, and Amor de Padre.
Alejandro brings to life the mission of the National Compadres Network through his work with at-risk young men, migrant fathers, single fathers, fathers dealing with addiction, incarcerated fathers, and fathers that are batterers or victims of domestic violence. He has provided services to men throughout California.
Mr. Vasquez received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. Alejandro currently lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Maribel.
